3. Node Preparation
3-1. Install iSCSI Initiator
Click "Tools", select "iSCSI Initiator"
Click "Yes"
Type the IP of iSCSI Target server (10.0.0.20), then click "Quick Connect..."
When it shows connected, click "Done"
It shows the iSCSI is connected
Click the "Volumes and Devices" tab, then click "Auto Configure"
It shows 2 volumes in the list, then clicks "OK"
3-2. Configure Disks
Right click on the Start logo, select "Disk Management"The Disk1 and Disk 2 are offline
Right click on the disk1, select "Online"
Right click on the disk2, select "Online"
Right click on the disk1, select "Initialize Disk"
Click " OK"
Right click on the disk1 volume, select " New Simple Volume..."
Select " E" for the disk letter, click " Next"
Type " Data" for the volume name. click "Next"
Do the same process to the disk2 volume
RIght click on the disk2 volume, select " New Simple Volume..."
Select " F" for the disk letter, click " Next"
Type " Witness" for the volume name. click "Next"
Now both disks are online
Double check on the file explorer, both disks are assigned disk letter and ready for use
3-3. Check disks status on the other node
Switch to the other server "Node02"Check the disk statuses are "Offline" from disk management
3-4. Summary:
- Any disk can only be owned and keep online in one node.
- If a disk is at the online status on 2 or more nodes, the disk and file access will be conflicted and cause the failure.
