Before to capture a reference PC, we need to set up the PC as the standard for a company such as installing compulsory applications and change desktop background.

Click "This PC"
Double click on DVD drive

Click "Yes"

Click "Next"

Keep click "Next"
When another window pop up, click "Install"

Keep the default selection of "Reboot now"
Click "Finish"

When the Window back, remove the DVD
Click "Device" --> "Optical Drives" --> click "Remove disk from virtual drive"

Switch to the Oracle VirtualBox Manager
Select the Win 10 Reference machine, select "Settings", select "Shared Folder", click the folder plus icon on the top right corner

Select "Folder Path"

Select the folder to be shared

Check the 2 functions "Auto-mount" and "Make Permanent"
Click "OK"

Click "OK"

Open file explorer and click this PC, the shared folder should be connected as a virtual drive

5-2. Install required Applications for the standard PC

Copy the WPS installation file "WPSOffice_10.2.0.7635_free" from the shared folder
PS: you may copy three files to install them all. Here only demo installing one application.
PS: Install Chrome and Reader may require internet access, so you need to switch the network to NAT when installing then change back to Internal.
PS: Why don't we run the application file on the virtual drive? Because any execution (installation) file cannot work from a "Share folder".

Copy the WPS file to c:\
Double click the file to install

Click "Yes"

Check the first checkbox
Click "Install Now"

Click "Accept & Continue"

When it complete, the 3 short cut appear on the desktop

5-3. Change Desktop background

Why do we change the background?
Some company may use a company logo as a standard desktop background for every client PC.
Here we do a practice to complete this task.

Right click on the desktop, select "Personalise"

Select a different image from the default one, then close the settings window

5-4. Run Sysprep and shutdown

Every computer has its own SID. So we want to make a reference PC must remove its SID before become as a reference image. Microsoft provide a tool called "sysprep" to remove SID.

Right click on the windows logo, click "Run"

Type "sysprep", click "OK"

Double click the file "sysprep"

Check the checkbox "Generalize"
Select "Shutdown", then click "OK"
PS: If select "Reboot" then the machine will generate another SID for this PC when it start up.

Processing may take a while then shutdown automatically
