3. Add Boot and Install Images
Before adding boot and install images, it is necessary to mount the source DVD (Windows 10 ) to the DVD drive.
About how to mount DVD you may refer to the article
3-1. Add Boot images
Now there are some features are created under the domain
Double check that those folders are also created under the "E:\Remoteinstall"
PS: This is very important if any folder is not created then the WDS will be not able to perform properly. The most 3 important folders are "Boot", "Images", "WdsClientUnattend"
Back to the WDS management, click "Boot Images" under the domain.
At the right panel, right click and select "Add Boot Images..."
Click "Browse..."
Select DVD drive, my drive is "F:\sources\boot.wim"
Click "Open"
Click "Next"
Keep the default settings, Click "Next"
Click "Next"
Click "Finish"
3-2. Add Install Image
Click "Install Images" under the domain at the left panel.Right click the right panel, then select "Add Image Group"
We need a group to categorise the install images if we have window 8.1, windows10, windows server 2016 in the future
Type "Windows 10 Group", click "OK"
Now, click the "windows 10 group" at the left panel.
Right click on the right panel, select "Add Install Image..."
Click "Browse..."
Go to the same place, in the DVD drive, select the "F:\source\install.wim"
Click "Open"
Click "Next"
Make sure the source version is the correct one
Click "Next"
Click "Next"
Click "Finish"
Now the "Windows 10 Education" version install image is created in the WDS server
3-3. Verify Boot and Install Images
Verify Boot image
E:\Remoteinstall\Boot\x64\Images\boot.wim
Verify the Install image
E:\Remoteinstall\Images\Windows 10 Group\install.wim
