0. Skype

  0-1 What is Skype

Skype is a communications application that provides video, voice, and voice calls to computers, tablets, and mobile devices over other connected devices or traditional phones/smartphones over the Internet.

  0-2 Why Skype

          0-2-1 Cost saving

Since Skype has been acquired by Microsoft in 2011, it has become a part of the Microsoft product family. Most of the companies use it as a communication tool instead of traditional phones because it is not only carrying voice but also text, video, files and pictures. In addition, It saves a lot of telephone bill.

          0-2-2 Security enhancement

It increases the security level when using it as an internal communicating channel because it provides an approach to implement the Skype server group in a large company. That means any communication network package will not be sent to the outside of the company network so it reduces the possibility of stealing critical information.

          0-2-3 Efficient

It can replace a major part of work from email. Skype is an instant contact tool. Email is a passive reach tool.

   0-3 Who need Skype

          0-3-1 Small company

Nowadays, there are a lot of communication applications used in our daily life such as what's app, wechat, Line, Skype and so on. Although you can use those tools to do your daily work most of them are not much compatible with the computer-based office application as Skype does. For the perspective of cost saving and staff training, using Skype as your office communication application will bring more benefits as you can imagine.

          0-3-2 Medium or Large company

If the company you work is information sensitive or require high data security, implementing an internal Skype server environment is necessary. Again, most of the online communication application transport data via insecure internet. All the network packages are exposed to the public even they are encrypted. So a secure and internal communication application, Skype, is the best choice.
