Storage Space, iscsi and FSRM Lab Environment Preparation

Storage Space, iSCSI and FSRM Lab Environment Preparation

0. Preface

This chapter is about how to prepare an environment for the next 3 labs, Storage Space, iSCSI and FSRM. Those 3 labs will use the same virtual machine environment such as domain controller and file server settings.

Below links are for the related chapters

0-1. Why need a lab environment preparation

The environment preparation is to set up a dedicated scenario for implement and practice 3 labs.

     0-2. What is

  1. Storage Space (Storage Space Chapter 1)
  2. iSCSI (Internet Small Computer System Interface)  (iSCSI Chapter 1)
  3. FSRM (File Server Resource Manager) (FSRM Chapter 1)
Those 3 roles or functions are provided by Microsoft in the Windows server.  They are able to provide solutions to solve storage approaches such as redundant, RAID, fault tolerance and so on. More details about them will be described in the specific chapters.
